The Orkey Islands in Scotland are incredibly beautiful and a must see for anyone visiting the Scottish countryside. The only thing about visiting the countryside is that it can become expensive – not only do you have travel costs (and the price of fuel keeps on going up and up after all...), but after a while the expense of having to stay in a hotel or guesthouse may make you feel as though you are saving for a holiday abroad instead of in Scotland! Even if you are coming from abroad, we all want to save money wherever we can to enjoy the finer things in life and one way of doing this is to use to use (whether you hire or bring your own is entirely up to you) a caravan to get around.
The first thing that is appealing about using a caravan to get around Orkney is that you will never have to worry about worry about where your bed is! As long as you have someone with you (and even if you don’t) you are always guaranteed a decent night’s rest no matter where you end up.
While there are other ways to get around Orkney; for example some people use bus tours which can be restrictive at times and not allow you to see the real Orkney you will be able to go wherever you please (within limits of course), at your own pace, not having to worry about anyone else (except maybe the people who are travelling with you, and hopefully, they will be in the same mindset as you are).
